TestFlight is Apple’s app testing platform that enables people to download and test pre-release versions of iOS apps before they are publicly available. It is a free app available to everyone. We are using TestFlight to make Promptly Pay available to a select group of people before publicly launching on the App Store (and eventually Play Store).
Once you receive the invitation, open the TestFlight invitation email and you should see something that looks like the image below. Tap on “View in TestFlight” to continue.
Follow the “Get TestFlight from the App Store” link and download TestFlight. This is an iOS app only so you’ll either need to use this link on your iPhone or search for TestFlight in the iOS App Store.
Once TestFlight has been installed, follow the directions on the page (screenshot below). The redeem code is required to access the Promptly Pay app.
Once you have redeemed the code, you will see the Promptly Pay app and will be able to install it. One thing to note: as this is a private beta and not a publicly released app, you will see a version number and a build number right below it on the screen below.
Until we launch, when we make changes to the app and release a new version, the build number will go up but the version number will stay the same. TestFlight typically installs new builds automatically, but this is something to be aware of.
For feedback: you can use TestFlight to send feedback and crashes to us, and we also have a Bug Submission form here. We prefer to keep everything here, but if sending feedback is easier with TestFlight then go ahead 🙂
Once the app is installed, you’ll see it on your home screen and you’re all set! Happy testing!
